Housing Market Bubble Watch: Will High Home Prices Crash the Market?

An article titled “Housing prices are surging but a bubble doesn’t seem likely” caught our attention. There are many people who believe the housing market will crash, but they don’t have any data to support a bubble or home prices collapsing. With current inflation, moderate home affordability, Wall Street buying homes, low inventory and high rents there is little belief among economists that home prices will decline.

A number of YouTubers have daily videos about the impending collapse of the housing market today, but they have been touting this for at least 2 years now. The only data they cite for a home price bubble is rising home prices, which in themselves, mean nothing. The current low housing inventory shows the opposite. Home prices will continue to rise for the foreseeable future until home inventory comes back to a normal level, but far from a housing market crash today or in the near future.
