Why The Housing Market in 2022 and 2023 Will be Nothing Like the 2008 Crash

The housing market in 2022 and 2023 will likely have a correction, but it won’t be anything like the real estate crash of 2008. The current housing market is showing resiliency even after mortgage rates have reached 10 year highs. Most people have equity in their homes and mortgage debt is the lowest ever recorded.

The people who keep saying the housing market will crash in 2022 or 2023 have been saying this every year and there is nothing fundamentally that shows the housing market will crash. In fact the housing market could keep appreciating into 2023 because of inflation, which tends to boost home prices.

This update to the housing market is one of a series of real estate market updates and we discuss whether there is a housing bubble or not and whether inflation will cause home prices to go up or not. Also we discuss whether a recession hurts the housing market and causes home prices to fall.
