Baby boomers are buying more homes than Millennials are and driving up home prices. The largest demographic of home buyers are Baby Boomers and they are paying cash for homes. 39% of all homes purchased last fall were by Baby boomers. One of the reasons baby boomers are buying so many homes is that they are staying in their homes longer. Another reason is that they are buying more investment homes and deciding to keep their money in controllable assets like real estate instead of the stock market or banks that don’t pay much interest.
