Should I Rent My House or Sell it? Using Existing Home as a Rental.
The decision to sell or rent out your house will depend on whether or not the home is suitable as a rental property (for example the HOA could preclude rentals) etc. Unless the cash from the sale is absolutely required to purchase another home, in most cases it makes more sense to keep the home as a rental property, especially since interest rates are so low and money is relatively cheap.
There are many people who are renting a house and thinking of buying, and many times the person they are renting from owns both the rental they are living in as well as their primary residence. Likewise many homeowners that have bought a house already are considering renting it out and buying another one, either as a rental or as an owner-occupant.
