Most Realtors won’t do open houses on their listings, mostly because there is no proof they sell the home any quicker or for more money. Most of the time open houses are done because the agent is trying to get more clients. The other reason is to appease a seller that believes that the open house is what sells their home.
A risk of doing open houses is that it is harder to monitor the people who are entering the home. It is important that in this case any valuables are securely packed away.
